Chili Sauce

One of the vintage recipes that we have always loved was a sauce that was made simply from a bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce and a jar of grape jelly.
When we read the ingredients on the bottle of chili sauce, and we realized it was no longer an option in our journey to a healthier lifestyle.
So, we set about trying to create a sauce to use in its place.
This is what we came up with!
We used this in our vintage meatball sauce recipe, and it worked beautifully!
There are several other uses for chili sauce, too!
Condiment for Turkey Burgers and Sandwiches – Adds a spicy kick to sandwiches, turkey burgers, or wraps.
Dip for Fries and Chips – Perfect for dipping crispy fries, potato chips, or even onion rings.
Topping for Hot Dogs – Drizzle over hot dogs for a tangy, spicy flavor.
Pizza Sauce – Substitute or mix with tomato sauce for a spicy pizza base.
In Soups and Stews – Adds extra flavor and heat to soups, chili, and stews.
Eggs and Breakfast Dishes – Spice up scrambled eggs, omelets, or breakfast burritos.
Salsa Alternative – Use as a spicy topping for tacos, nachos, or burritos.
Glaze for Roasted Chicken – Brush over chicken during roasting or grilling for a flavorful glaze.
Meatball Sauce – Combine with other ingredients for a flavorful glaze for meatballs or cocktail sausages.
Taco Sauce – Use as a spicy topping for tacos, burritos, or nachos.
Stir-Fry Base – Use as a flavorful addition to stir-fries.
Dipping Sauce for Chicken – Pairs wonderfully with chicken wings or nuggets for a sweet and tangy dip.
Chili Base – Add to homemade chili for enhanced flavor and heat.
